The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Sokoto State Coordinating Office, has continued its stakeholder engagement drive with a courtesy and collaborative visit to the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) Centre, Sokoto, as part of preparations for the forthcoming Investors’ Forum in the state.
The RMRDC delegation, led by the Sokoto State Coordinator, Hajiya Nadia Bawa, was warmly received by the Centre Manager, Engr. Abubakar Ahmad, alongside the Production Manager, Muhammad Zaki, and other management staff of NBTI. The management expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated the importance of strategic partnerships in driving industrial development, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
During the meeting, both organisations held productive discussions on areas of mutual interest, with particular focus on the upcoming Investors’ Forum being organised by RMRDC. The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration aimed at promoting investment, value addition, technology commercialisation, and sustainable industrial growth in Sokoto State.
Speaking during the engagement, Engr. Abubakar Ahmad, Centre Manager of NBTI Sokoto Centre, highlighted the mandate of the National Board for Technology Incubation, which includes supporting technology-based enterprises, nurturing innovative entrepreneurs, facilitating the commercialisation of research and development outcomes, and promoting the growth of small and medium-scale industries.
Engr. Ahmad further expressed NBTI’s commitment to partnering with RMRDC to ensure the successful hosting of the Investors’ Forum. He assured the delegation of the Centre’s readiness to contribute meaningfully to the programme and other initiatives geared towards economic development and industrial transformation in the state.
As part of the discussions, NBTI also pledged to strengthen collaboration with the RMRDC Sokoto State Coordinating Office on future capacity-building programmes and training initiatives. The Centre Manager noted that the organisation would liaise closely with RMRDC to identify areas of cooperation that would benefit entrepreneurs, processors, investors, and other stakeholders within the raw materials value chain.
The Sokoto State Coordinator, Hajiya Nadia Bawa Abubakar, commended the management of NBTI for the warm reception and willingness to collaborate. She emphasised that strategic partnerships among key institutions are critical to achieving sustainable industrialisation, promoting investment opportunities, and enhancing value addition to the state’s abundant raw materials resources.
The visit further reinforced the cordial relationship between the two organisations and demonstrated their shared commitment to promoting innovation, enterprise development, and industrialisation through strategic partnerships.
Other RMRDC staff who accompanied the State Coordinator are: Senior Pharmacist Abubakar Umar; Senior Scientific Officer, Usman Omar, and Statistician I, Sharhabilu Kabiru. The engagement forms part of RMRDC’s ongoing efforts to mobilise key stakeholders and institutions to successfully host the Investors’ Forum and advance sustainable industrial development in Sokoto State.
